Crammer Safety Competent Person Options
The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999(MHSWR) and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (RRO), both require every employer / responsible person to appoint a ‘competent person’.
A competent person is defined as “A person who has sufficient training and experience or knowledge and other qualities of health and safety or fire safety to enable them to properly assist you in undertaking the measures to comply with safety legislation.”
Crammer Safety provides a range of ‘competent person’ services.
Option 1: ‘Competent person’ - Ideal for a business with very few employees or a self-employed person who sub-contracts to larger contractors and needs support.
If you do not employ anyone who has sufficient experience to assist you with your Health and Safety or Fire Safety responsibilities, you can appoint Crammer Safety to be your 'competent person' in one or both specialist areas. This provides a cost effective way to comply with legal requirements and have access to a trained and experienced professional when you require one.
We will:

Act as your appointed health & safety / fire safety 'competent person'

Offer an optional, no obligation, on-going payment arrangement with a monthly bank standing order instead of the full annual fee in advance

Provide any additional safety services you require at a discounted rate of 10%
Option 2: ‘Competent person’ plus ‘Do-it-yourself’ - The money saving option
If you want to keep costs down, but need the additional confidence, support and direction of a trained, experienced and qualified ‘competent person’, in health & safety, fire safety or both, whilst you save money by doing most of the work yourself then Crammer Safety will:

Act as your appointed health & safety / fire safety 'competent person'

Support you with step-by-step instructions on what to do and how to do it

Provide you with blank documentation if required

Mentor and support your progress by phone or e-mail, ensuring you achieve suitable and sufficient outcomes

Offer an optional, no obligation, on-going payment arrangement with a monthly bank standing order instead of the full annual fee in advance

Provide additional tasks or services you may require will be available at a discounted rate of 15%
Option 3: Full ‘competent person’ service - For businesses who need to organise their safety but don't have the available time to put to it, or don't have a qualified, in-house practitioner
If you do not have access to a Health and Safety or Fire safety professional, Crammer Safety will act as your appointed ‘competent person’ in both specialist fields and provide you with a full safety support package.
Or, you could use the full ‘competent person’ service as an additional specialist back-up to your existing in-house safety person who only has limited safety expertise.
This service is arranged around your requirements and provides comprehensive, on-going support by personal visits, advice and support via phone or e-mail.
We will:
